Record group 68-104 consists of two sets of records of the Michigan State Athletic Board of Control for the years 1947-1963. The first set of records consists of selected correspondence of the secretary (1947-49, 1956-63). These materials relate to suspensions, licensing, and promotion. Includes inspection reports (1956-59); correspondence relating to the Michigan Amateur Athletic Union (1956, 1959, 1961, 1964); application for amateur license (1959-60); fight results (1956); the Kefauver Committee hearings (1959-60); National Boxing Association (1957-61); and National Wrestling Association (1959-63). The second set of records relate to professional boxing and wrestling shows within the state (1957-59), consisting of general administrative records which might include contract, sample tickets, form physician report and, occasionally, insurance policy.
